Nicole is a dedicated Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) residing on the traditional unceded territories of the Snuneymuxw, Snaw-naw-as, and Stz’uminus First Nations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care with a specialization in Child Protection, as well as a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

With extensive experience as a child protection worker with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Nicole has been instrumental in helping families navigate crises. She is the owner and founder of Calm Waters Clinical Counselling, where she offers a wide range of services, including individual and couples counselling, co-parent coaching, and parenting support.

Her practice emphasizes culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and attachment-focused approaches aimed at improving relationships. Nicole’s work with children, youth and families has equipped her with exceptional skills in interviewing children, allowing her to compile effective and detailed reports for families, caregivers and decision-makers.

As a mother of three, she understands the complexities families face, and she advocates for the importance of understanding cultural differences and values, particularly as an Indigenous woman. Nicole believes that the voices and perspectives of children should be at the forefront of developing meaningful family plans that support parents and inform legal professionals in their decision-making processes.
