Arlene is a lawyer in private practice based in the Metro Vancouver area for more than 35 years. Arlene has focussed her family and dispute resolution practice on the restructuring of families resulting from separation and divorce, wills and estate challenges, and elder care and management. She is highly skilled in the use of various collaborative interventions, including mediation, facilitated negotiations, med-arbitration and parenting coordination.
Arlene has a particular interest in children’s participation in dispute resolution processes, combined with significant knowledge and experience interviewing and working with children and teens. She has been mediating family related disputes for almost 25 years throughout the Province and has presented papers on the voice of the child in mediation at the 4th World Congress on Family Law and Children’s Rights in Capetown; the 2nd ADR International Congress in Puerto Rico, and other related CLE courses. Arlene also has much experience working with families from various ethno-cultural and religious communities.
Hear the Child Reports provide an essential vehicle for ensuring that a child’s view is captured and heard by persons involved in making decisions which affect a child’s living arrangements, relationships with parents and involvement in activities.
